PROPERTY TAX BILLS     Property Taxes Due September 16th

For our homeowners who have not yet paid their 2024 property taxes, invoices are due without penalty on or before September 16th.  On September 17th, any unpaid taxes will incur a one-time 4% penalty and begin accruing a 0.5% interest fee per month.  The Village accepts tax payments by mail, in-person during normal business hours, or by using our lockbox to the right of the Village Hall front door.  Thank you to the nearly 50% of residents who have already paid their taxes!  If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Lauren Reeves, Assistant Treasurer, at 734-222-5209 / assistanttreasurer@bartonhillsvillage.org.

SAVE THE DATE     Our annual BHV Halloween Trick or Treating (Pizza Party & Trolley) will be on Halloween (October 31st) this year! Watch out for more information to come soon!

SPEEDING    As many of you may have noticed, speeding has become a growing concern in the Village. The issue not only poses risks to pedestrians and cyclists but also affects the overall quality of life in our community. When drivers speed through our streets, it creates an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty for families, discouraging outdoor activities and diminishing our sense of community. We also realize there is a cut through issue. We have begun clearing brush back from the roads to increase visibility for drivers/pedestrians on some of our blind corners. We ask that we all do our part to slow down for the safety of all.

CLIMATE RESILIENCE MEETING    Save the date!  Bryce Frohlich, Ann Arbor Climate Resilience Specialist, will give a one-hour presentation on Climate Resilience in the Village Hall on September 24th at 7:00pm.  He was originally scheduled to speak in August but ironically minutes before his presentation, a horrific torrential downpour caused the meeting to be canceled.

Reminder:

The annual A2Zero Green Fair will be Friday, Sept. 20, 2024, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm along Main Street. There will be almost 100 exhibitors who will provide information on innovative ways to live sustainably and take climate action.
