ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS             

BARTON HILLS VILLAGE

 

July 8, 2024

 

The meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was called to order by President Holmes at 6:03 PM at Walter Esch Hall.

 

ROLL CALL     Present:  Trustees Conlin, Darden, Haitam, Hensinger, Holmes, Popp, and Smith.   Absent:  Trustees Al-Awar and Perry

Others attending:  ZA Capozza, BHMC President David, Supt. Reeves, Asst. Treasurer Reeves, two residents, one member of the public

 

*Board inadvertently addressed items pertaining to Board of Trustees meeting prior to addressing ZBA business

-Minutes of the June 10, 2024 Trustees meeting were approved; Minutes of the 2.12.24 ZBA were not addressed

 

200 BARTON NORTH     Application for variance construct a landscape/retaining wall in the setback.  The landscape architect explained that the design includes a 2’6” tall Corten steel wall placed to the west side of the existing driveway withing the side setback area.

 

Public Hearing. The public hearing convened at 6:13 PM.

Persons of Interest (owners of property within 300’)

No public comment.

 

Other Public Comment

Jeff David, President of the Barton Hills Maintenance Corporation stated that the back of property borders that Jan & David Esch Nature Preserve (owned by the BHMC) and the BHMC has no objections to the project.

 

The public hearing was closed at 6:15 PM.

 

Motion:  Request for variance from Section 5.03(C) of the Barton Hills Village Zoning Ordinance to allow construction of a wall in the setback at 200 Barton North was approved.  (Haitam/Popp/P)

 

 

There being no further business or objections, the meeting was adjourned at 6:18 PM.
