Summer 2025 Traffic Safety Study Findings Available

Your community’s leadership are taking evidence-based steps to improve the safety of our privately-owned roads for all residents and invited pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. This initiative also aims to mitigate the risks created by speeding and reduce the presence of unauthorized users on our roads. Safety remains everyone’s responsibility.

To support this effort, this summer the Barton Hills Maintenance Corporation (BHMC) and Barton Hills Village (BHV) jointly funded an independent traffic study by TechPro, a third-party consultant specializing in traffic control and enforcement for communities. The study was designed to improve safety and quality of life in Barton Hills, not to advance any predetermined approach. The Joint Roads Committee presented an executive summary of TechPro’s Final Report at the October 7th BHMC Board meeting, and again at the October 13th Trustee meeting. These materials are available to all residents at http://bartonhillsvillage.org/reports

The next steps are to schedule a community event open to all residents to learn directly from leadership, and have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback. That will be scheduled soon, so watch an upcoming Barton Bulletin for the date & time.

Barton Hills Country Club Appeal of the Trustee’s Zoning Decision Posted

At the September 8th meeting, the Board of Trustees denied the BHCC’s request to build a berm between the Country Club’s parking lot and putting green. The BHCC has appealed this decision to the Zoning Board of Appeals. Its appeal is available on the main page of the BHV website under “Announcements”. The appeal will be addressed at the next meeting of the ZBA on Monday November 10, 2025. The public will have the opportunity to provide in-person, public comment at the meeting, or submit a written comment to bhvclerk@bartonhillsvillage.org.

Barton Hills Resident Guidebook Has Been Updated

During its October 13th meeting, the Trustees approved updates to the Village portion of the Resident Guidebook. The Guidebook, which provides extensive information for residents about services provided by the Village and the BHMC, is available on the main page of the BHV website. We strongly encourage all residents to familiarize themselves with the Guidebook as it provides much valuable information for us all.
