The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by President Boddie at 6:00 PM at the Village Hall.

New Trustees Sharon Popp, Carla Smith and Alicia Torres along with returning Trustees Riad Al-Awar and Forrest Butterwick took the oath of office and were seated on the Board.

ROLL CALL Present: Trustees Al-Awar, Benson, Boddie, Butterwick, MacKrell, Popp, Smith and Torres. Absent: Trustee Borel. Others attending: ZA Perry, Supt. Esch, Asst. Supt. Hnatow, Asst. Treas. King, BHMC President Legacki and two residents.

BE IT RESOLVED that since PAUL IZENBERG has served as a Barton Hills Village Trustee since 2010, and whereas he has brought enthusiasm and wisdom to this volunteer position, the members of the Board of Trustees wish to thank Dr. Izenberg wholeheartedly for his contributions to the Board and his loyalty and dedication to the Barton Hills community, and extend their best wishes to him.

BE IT RESOLVED that since ELIZABETH LANGFORD has served as a Barton Hills Village Trustee since 2007, and whereas she has brought enthusiasm and wisdom to this volunteer position, serving as Chair of the Personnel Committee along with other duties, the members of the Board of Trustees wish to thank Mrs. Langford wholeheartedly for her contributions to the Board and her loyalty and dedication to the Barton Hills community, and extend their best wishes to her.

PUBLIC COMMENT One resident spoke regarding an unsolicited letter she received from a person seeking to purchase a house in BHV. BHMC President Legacki noted that the BHMC Directors would be discussing the Barton Boat Club at their November 15, 2016 meeting and would welcome input.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
Recreation (Benson) The Halloween event was very successful. Results of the Recreation Committee survey indicate that the annual picnic is popular and there may be interest in another social event of some kind.

Roads/Vehicles (Al-Awar) Field work and drawings have been completed for replacement of the water main on Barton Shore Drive. The Roads Committee will meet with the engineer this week to continue the planning process.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS The BHMC Board of Directors has indicated willingness to accept ownership of the roads if BHV will cover costs. Issues still being researched include liability insurance and how to fund maintenance. It was noted that road closing required to maintain privacy was conducted in November 2016.
