WHOLE SYSTEM HYDRANT FLUSHING Tuesday-Thursday September 10-12
During these three days BHV will be flushing hydrants throughout the entire Village to comply with the state-required Water Reliability Study. It is expected that this activity will cause discolored water. Residents are asked to keep water use to a minimum from 9 AM to 2 PM on these three days, to avoid drawing discolored water into your home plumbing. Please turn off sprinklers and postpone other large uses of water during the flushing time.
The water will be safe to drink at all times. If you have questions or concerns, contact Supt. Hnatow at 734-368-7896.
BHV FALL PICNIC Sunday, September 15 at 4:00 PM
Join your neighbors on the Village Green for this fun event. Hot dogs, brats, burgers, buns, condiments, lemonade, dishes and utensils will be provided. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. There will be badminton, croquet and bocce ball available; you can bring whatever games you would like as well.

TRASH COLLECTION CHANGE Tuesday, September 3
Due to the Labor Day holiday, trash will be collected on Tuesday rather than Monday. Household hazardous waste items set next to the trash will also be picked up (only on the first trash collection day of each month, April through November).
RECYCLING CHANGES Coming soon
BHV contracts with Recycle Ann Arbor to provide the large green recycling bin. Recycle Ann Arbor now requires glass to be entirely separate from all other material. In the near future there will be two green bins, one for metals/plastics on one side and paper on the other, and one only for glass.
Please note that it is especially important for the glass to be clean, with no other materials in the bin (No lids!) Even the smallest amounts of liquid/food/non glass materials can contaminate the entire bin.

TAX PAYMENTS Due by September 14
BHV property tax bills are due by September 14, 2019 after which penalty and interest charges will be added. Since the due date is a Saturday, tax payments received on Monday, September 16, 2019 will not accrue penalty/interest. Regular office hours for the Clerk and Treasurer’s offices are Monday-Thursday 8:30-11:30 AM. Payments may also be mailed to Barton Hills Village, 199 Barton Shore Drive, Ann Arbor MI 48105.
Remember to pay the lower amount of the two invoices you received.
PLANNING COMMISSION Special Meeting October 1
The Barton Hills Village Planning Commission has scheduled a Special Meeting for October 1, 2019 at Walter Esch Hall at 6:00 PM. The topic of the Special Meeting will be review of a proposed new house construction over 10,000 square feet at 525 Hillspur Road.
