HOLIDAY REMINDERS

–Trash pick up will follow the normal schedule of Monday December 16 and 30, January 6.

–The BHV Security patrol will be keeping a close eye on homes, especially if residents are away.  Contact Deputy Clerk Jan Esch (bhvclerk@bartonhillsvillage.org; 734-222-5209) or Supt. Jeff Hnatow (734-368-7896) if you want to state specific dates you will be out of town.

–The BHV offices will close at noon on Thursday December 19, 2019 and reopen at 8:30 AM on Monday January 6, 2020.  For urgent needs during that time phone 734-222-5209 for alternate contact information

–Christmas trees/greenery/plants will be picked up for disposal, as the staff has time, if left along the side of the driveway or road (in the same way leaves/brush are collected).  Please make sure all decorations/stands/tinsel/wires/non-plant materials are removed.

MOVIE DAY     For the first time, the BHV Recreation Committee will be hosting a Movie Day on Tuesday March 10, 2020 for resident children and parents.  Ann Arbor Public Schools are closed that day as many school buildings become polling places for Election Day. This will be a fun way for families with children to get better acquainted.  Stay tuned for more details!

 

PUBLIC HEARING/WALL and SOLAR PERMITS
The BHV Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on January 13, 2020 to review an application to install landscape walls and rooftop solar panels at 340 Barton North Drive.  The application may be inspected at the Barton Hills Village Clerk’s Office (734) 222-5209.  Written comments may be submitted in person at the public hearing which begins at 6:00 PM at Walter Esch Hall, mailed/delivered to Barton Hills Village, 199 Barton Shore Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, faxed to 734-222-9177, or emailed to bhvclerk@bartonhillsvillage.org prior to the close of the public hearing.

 

RECYCLING     Please continue to deposit only glass in the open recycling bin, and other recyclables in the green bin or wire bins.  Corrugated cardboard can be left just inside the salt shed next to the bins where it will be dry if the weather is damp.  Make sure all items are clean.

 

BHV BOARD OF TRUSTEES     The Barton Hills Village Board of Trustees has set their 2020 regular meeting dates (second Monday of each month):   January 13, February 10, March 9 (Annual Meeting), April 13, May 11, June 8, July 13, August 10, September 14, October 12, November 9 and December 14.  All meetings begin at 6:00 PM at Walter Esch Hall.   Current agenda and Board minutes are posted at Walter Esch Hall and at bartonhillsvillage.org

 

PLANNING COMMISSION 2020 MEETING DATES    Regular meetings of the BHV Planning Commission have been set for 6:00 PM at Walter Esch Hall on March 3, June 9, September 8 and December 8, 2020.

 

BHMC     The Barton Hills Maintenance Corporation 2020 regular meeting dates are set for the first Tuesday of each month (January 7, February 4, April 7, May 5, June 2, July 7, August 4, September 1, October 6, November 3, December 1) with the exception of March, when the BHMC Annual Meeting will be held on Monday March 9 immediately following the BHV Annual Meeting.  All BHMC meetings begin at 6:00 PM at Walter Esch Hall.

 

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

–2020 is a Census Year, as mandated by the U.S. Constitution.
