The meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was called to order by President Torres at 6:00 PM at Walter Esch Hall.
ROLL CALL Present: Trustees Al-Awar, Popp, Saldana, Smith, Torres and Turner. Absent: Trustees Benson, Butterwick, and Hensinger.
Others attending: Supt. Hnatow, BHMC VPres Frank and two residents.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES Minutes of the March 12, 2018 Zoning Board of Appeals meeting were approved as printed. (Al-Awar/Smith/P)
APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE 315 Corrie Road
Project Presentation (JEsch for ZA Perry) Variance was requested for construction of driveway light pillars in the front set back. Due to the location of the driveway, placement of the pillars outside the set back would put them in an ineffective location.
Public Hearing The Public Hearing was convened at 6:02 PM. No public comment was given. Two residents submitted written comment in support of the project. The hearing was closed at 6:03 PM.
Discussion/Decision Discussion included ease of traffic flow and safety, and consideration of other options for pillar placement. It was noted that the requested location for the pillars was based on the intent to aid motorists in safely finding the driveway entrance.
Motion Request for variance from Section 4.08 of the Barton Hills Village Zoning Ordinance to allow construction of two driveway pillars in the front set back at 315 Corrie Road per the plans dated April 24, 2019 was approved. (Saldana/Al-Awar//P with Al-Awar voting no)
