MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING

TRUSTEES OF BARTON HILLS VILLAGE

January 14, 2019

 

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by President Torres at 6:03 PM at Walter Esch Hall.

ROLL CALL     Present:  Trustees Al-Awar, Benson, Hensinger, Popp, Saldana, Smith, Torres and Turner.   Absent:  Trustee Butterwick.
Others attending:  ZA Perry, Asst. Treas. King, Supt. Hnatow, BHMC President Curtner and two residents.

 

PUBLIC COMMENT    One resident spoke regarding speeding in BHV, asking that new ideas be considered since signs and printed reminders don’t seem to be helping; also expressed concern for dogs loose in the roadway.                                                                                             Mr. Saldana arrived

 

MINUTES     Minutes of the December 10, 2018 Trustees meeting were approved as printed.  (Hensinger/Smith/P)  

 

FINANCE/FINANCE COMMITTEE    The Cash Balances report was distributed, along with a new Budget to Actual report.  The Cash Disbursements for December 2018 were approved as printed. (Aux. Book VII F(4)) (Hensinger/Al-Awar/P)  The second draft of the proposed 2019-20 budget was noted. (Aux. Book VIII F(2)) Trustees should submit funding requests to Mr. Turner/Mrs. King as soon as possible.

 

STANDING REPORTS

Zoning Administrator  (Perry) No report.

Planning Commission  (Hensinger)  The Commission met on December 13, 2018; no items needing action.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Environmental  (Saldana)  The committee will be researching coyotes and deer due to recent reports of higher activity by these animal groups.

Recreation  (Benson)  Trustees were supportive of a resident’s suggestion to organize a movie/pizza night to help families with younger children get aquainted.  The committee will follow up.

Security  (Hnatow for Butterwick)  A resident survey is in progress to assess interest in having a community presentation by Washtenaw County Sheriff regarding home security resources.  Other suggestions are also being explored.

Water  (Popp)  The committee will be meeting next week.

Special Roads  (Torres)  The committee met last week to review/discuss at length what has transpired to date.  A list of questions to research was developed.

Human Resources  (Smith) No report.

Long Range Planning  (Turner) No report.

Roads/Vehicles  (Al-Awar) No report.

Zoning/Planning  (Hensinger) No report.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS     None.    

NEW BUSINESS     None.    

There being no further business or objections, the meeting was adjourned at 6:40 PM.
