MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING

TRUSTEES OF BARTON HILLS VILLAGE

July 9, 2018
 

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by President Boddie at 6:04 PM at Walter Esch Hall.


ROLL CALL     Present:  Trustees Benson, Boddie, Butterwick, Langford, MacKrell Popp and Torres.   Absent:  Trustees Al-Awar and Smith.

Others attending:  ZA Perry, Asst. Treas. King, Supt. Hnatow and BHMC VPresident Frank.


PUBLIC COMMENT
     None.


MINUTES
    Minutes of the June 11, 2018 Trustees meeting were approved as printed.  (Butterwick/Popp/P)  


FINANCE/FINANCE COMMITTEE    The Cash Balances report was distributed.  The Cash Disbursements for June 2018 were approved as printed. (Aux. Book VI F(3)) (MacKrell/Benson/P) 


STANDING REPORTS

Zoning Administrator  (Perry) No report.

Planning Commission  (MacKrell) No report.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Recreation  (Benson)      Dedication of Walter Esch Hall will take place at the Fall Picnic to be held on Sunday afternoon September 16, 2018.  Invitations will go out in August.

Long Range Planning  (MacKrell)   The report focused on ways to distribute information to residents (re: tree care, water, use of website, etc) and on encouraging residents to vote on upcoming BHV issues (proposed charter amendments in August, Trustee seats in November).

Environmental  (Butterwick/MacKrell) No report.

Personnel  (Langford) No report.

Roads/Vehicles  (Al-Awar) No report.

Security  (Butterwick) No report.

Water  (Torres) No report.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS    

–Proposed Charter Amendments.  Absentee ballots are now available from the Ann Arbor Township Clerk’s office for the August 7, 2018 election.

–Roads.  President Boddie and Attorney Burns will meet this week with a title expert to discuss implications of the recent BHMC filing/potential BHV response.

 

NEW BUSINESS    

–The Michigan Municipal League ballot for Worker’s Compensation Fund Board of Trustees members was approved as presented.  (MacKrell/Benson/P)

–Public Comment at Barton Hills Village Board of Trustees meetings will be limited to 3 minutes per speaker, with members of organized groups allotted up to 5 minutes per speaker.  (Torres/MacKrell/P)
