MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING
TRUSTEES OF BARTON HILLS VILLAGE
June 10, 2019
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by President ProTem Smith at 6:00 PM at Walter Esch Hall.
ROLL CALL Present: Trustees Al-Awar, Benson, Butterwick, Hensinger, Popp, Saldana, Smith and Turner. Absent: Trustee Torres (phone).
Others attending: ZA Perry, Asst. Treas. King, Supt. Hnatow, BHMC President Curtner and ten residents.
WATER COMMITTEE PRESENTATION The Water Committee presented a summary of the Water Primer printed in the June Barton Bulletin and included a more detailed rationale for their recommendation that BHV 1) focus on public education for water conservation, and 2) raise the water rate from $.99/ccf (100 cubic feet) to $3.99/ccf to more adequately cover operating expenses/plan for future capital needs. Public comment on the presentation was received.
PUBLIC COMMENT None.
MINUTES Minutes of the May 13, 2019 Trustees meeting were approved with one correction (fence permit address). (Saldana/Benson/P)
FINANCE/FINANCE COMMITTEE The Cash Disbursements for May 2019 were approved as printed (Aux. Book XII F). (Butterwick/Popp/P) The Cash Balances and Budget to Actual reports were noted.

Zoning Administrator (Perry) No report.
Planning Commission (Hensinger) No Report.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Roads/Vehicles (Al-Awar) Paving is well underway; slowed by rainfall. Up to $3000 from the Roads budget will be used for BHV pothole patching equipment. Potential use of Motor Vehicle Highway funds was discussed.
Recreation (Benson) The Fall Picnic will be held on Sunday September 15, 2019.
Security (Butterwick) Sample signs were discussed; more information on the recent resident security survey/camera use will be presented next month. The Security Committee will also research the possibility of reinstating the BHV Police Department.
Long Range Planning (Turner) No report.
Zoning/Planning (Hensinger) No report.
Environmental (Saldana) No report.
Human Resources (Smith) No report.
Water (Popp) See above.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS BHV Code Title I Chapter 9 will be amended via proposed Ordinance No. 57 to raise the water rate to $3.99 effective as of the next water billing cycle. The proposed ordinance will be printed in the Barton Bulletin for public comment. (Smith/Popp/P with Al-Awar and Saldana voting no)
