ZOOM HELP     Since Jan and all the Board members need to be focused on participating in BHV meetings, we are looking for a resident volunteer to help with the Zoom technology.  This would include setting up the meeting beforehand and monitoring during the actual meeting.  The BHV Board meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00 PM, and the Planning Commission meets quarterly, also at 6:00 PM (next meeting June 9).  The technology is more complex than a normal Zoom meeting due to the public participation component.  If you are interested, please contact Jan at 734-222-5209 or bhvclerk@bartonhillsvillage.org. as soon as possible.  Thanks!

PROJECT REVIEW     Project Review is required for all new construction, exterior alteration of existing structures, and landscape projects in Barton Hills Village.  This includes:

–fences and retaining walls greater than 18” high

–accessory buildings (garage, garden shed, gazebo, etc.)

–excavation other than common household gardening/ground care

–playground equipment                      –stairways/patio enclosures

–exterior lighting                                –generators/AC equipment

–outdoor swimming/garden pools       –parking areas

–solar/wind energy structures             –satellite antennas

Routine maintenance and repairs do not require review unless there will be a change in materials or structure.

Significant changes in approved plans require a secondary review.

No construction, earthmoving or tree removal may commence until all approvals are completed.

Please note that solar/wind energy structures, fences/retaining walls over18” and variances require a public hearing at a Board of Trustees meeting, with specific notifications.  Project applications must be received at least 20 days prior to the meeting to meet these requirements.  The Board of Trustees meets the second Monday of every month.
