The meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was called to order by President Boddie at 6:00 PM at the Village Hall.
ROLL CALL Present: Trustees Benson, Boddie, Borel, Butterwick, Izenberg, Langford, MacKrell and van der Velde. Absent: Trustee Al-Awar
Others attending: Asst. Treasurer King, Supt. Esch, BHMC President MacKrell and two project applicants.
APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE 180 Barton Shore Drive
Public Hearing The Public Hearing was convened at 6:01 PM. An email from the residents at 264 Barton Shore Drive in support of the project was read. There being no other public comment, the hearing was closed at 6:02 PM
Discussion
A report from Zoning Administrator Randy Perry was read which explained that variance from Section 5.07(1) of the Barton Hills Village Zoning Ordinance is necessary to allow construction of the proposed attached garage in front of the front line of the house Mr. Perry also mentioned the side set back; Board members agreed that the structure would not protrude in the set back and that the driveway was allowed to under the Ordinance. Board comment was supportive, with commendation for the significant improvement in exterior appearance, especially with garage doors facing the side rather than the front of the lot.
Motion Variance from Section 5.07(1) of the Barton Hills Village Zoning Ordinance was approved to allow construction of an attached garage in front of the front line of the house at 180 Barton Shore Drive. (Borel/Butterwick/P)
