MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING
TRUSTEES OF BARTON HILLS VILLAGE
March 11, 2024
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by President Holmes at 6:00 PM at Walter Esch Hall.
ROLL CALL Present: Trustees Al-Awar, Conlin, Darden, Haitam, Hensinger, Holmes, Popp, Perry, and Smith. Absent: None.
Others attending: Supt. Hnatow, ZA Capozza, BHMC Pres. David, Asst. Supt. Reeves, Asst. Treasurer Reeves, and 11 residents.
MINUTES Minutes of the February 12, 2024 Trustees meeting were approved as printed. (Conlin/Popp/P with Haitam abstain)
PUBLIC BUDGET HEARING The Public Budget Hearing was convened at 6:01 PM.
-Resident Willam Boddie expressed concerns for potential Village tax increases.
With no other public comment, the Public Budget Hearing was closed at 6:03 PM.
The FY2024-25 Budget Resolution was approved. (Aux. Book VII G). (Holmes/Darden/P)
FINANCE (Smith) The Cash Balances and Year End Forecast reports were acknowledged.
-The FY2023-24 Budget Revision Resolution was approved. (Aux. Book VIII G). (Holmes/Darden/P)
-Credit, Cash Balances, and Budget to Actual reports were acknowledged. The Cash Disbursements for February 2024 were approved as printed (Aux. Book IX G). (Smith/Conlin/P)
-Trustee Haitam raised concerns about the health of Flagstar Bank and suggested to the Village Board of Trustees to investigate all risks to the Village having this bank account.
ANNUAL COMMITTEE REPORTS There were no public comments regarding the reports. The Annual Committee Reports were accepted. (Darden/Conlin/P)
PUBLIC COMMENT One resident commented about the services provided by the Village.
OTHER BUSINESS Trustee Perry discussed water projects for this upcoming fiscal year which include new state requirements involving water service lines, the continued completion of repairs and maintenance on the water tower, and installation of the smart water meters.
-New water main replacements for Corrie Rd., Colliston Rd., and Hillspur Rd. are anticipated for the next fiscal year.
There being no further business or objections, the meeting was adjourned at 6:42 PM.
