CONGRATULATIONS The Barton Hills Village Board of Trustees adopted the following resolution at its March 10, 2014 meeting:
Whereas, since Barton Hills was established in 1922 under the auspices of the Barton Hills Maintenance Corporation to be a unique and beautiful residential community; and
Whereas, on March 1, 1949 the Barton Hills Maintenance Corporation hired Walter L. Esch to be an employee and later Superintendent of Barton Hills; and
Whereas, in 1973 the newly chartered Village of Barton Hills Village continued the employment of Walter Esch as Superintendent; and
Whereas, Walter Esch has faithfully and wholeheartedly served the Barton Hills Village residents with energy, integrity, determination, resourcefulness and
skill, often above and beyond the normal expectations of his position, for the well-being and benefit of the community;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees on behalf of the residents of Barton Hills Village extend to Walter their most sincere congratulations and deepest appreciation on this, the
65th Anniversary of the employment
of Walter L. Esch, Superintendent, Barton Hills
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be recorded in the minutes of the Barton Hills Village Board of Trustees. Passed Unanimously on March 10, 2014.
Walter received a copy of the resolution, complete with the BHV seal and signed by the Trustees, along with a frame and a basket of at least 65 cards and letters from BHV residents and friends, past and present.
Walter is by no means retiring and plans to continue working as long as he is able. He appreciates the honor and the cards very much, and sends his thanks to all who sent greetings and congratulations.
