BARTON HILLS VILLAGE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
March 3, 2015
The regular meeting of the BHV Planning Commission was called to order by Vice Chair Zoldan at 6:18 PM at the Village Hall.
ROLL CALL Present: Commissioners Curtner, JMacKrell, Richards, Wallace and Zoldan. Absent: Commissioners CMacKrell and Weingartner. Others present: ZPA Perry.
PUBLIC COMMENT None.
OFFICERS The following officers for 2015 were elected by acclamation: Chair Laura Weingartner, Vice Chair Andre Zoldan and Secretary John MacKrell. (Richards/JMacKrell/P unanimously)
MINUTES The minutes of the December 2, 2014 meeting were approved as printed. (Richards/JMacKrell/P unanimously)
COMMUNICATIONS/ANNOUNCEMENTS None.
REPORTS None. UNFINISHED BUSINESS None.
NEW BUSINESS Master Plan Review The Commissioners began discussion of the required 5-year review of the Barton Hills Village Master Plan. Comments included: –The newly adopted BHV Zoning Ordinance is in harmony with the Master Plan. –Are there better ways to think about use/protection of agricultural/conservation lands, especially in light of increased pressure from developments outside but near BHV? –What are the risks/benefits of having undeveloped land publically or privately owned? –In what ways might environmental protections be strengthened? –There are no indications from the community that the current Master Plan goals should be changed. –These are many of the same topics discussed when the Master Plan was adopted five years ago. Has anything changed from the conclusions reached at that time?
The Commissioners agreed to invite the Chair (or another representative) of the Ann Arbor Township Planning Commission to the next BHV Planning Commission meeting to learn what the township is doing in regard to their Master Plan and exchange ideas. Mrs. Esch will verify the Planning Commission budget for 2015-2016.
