The meeting of the Board of Zoning Appeals was called to order by President Boddie at 6:00 PM at the Village Hall.

 

ROLL CALL     Present:  Trustees Al-Awar, Benson, Boddie, Borel, Butterwick, Langford, MacKrell and van der Velde.  Absent: Trustee Izenberg.

Others attending:  ZPA Perry, Asst. Treasurer King, Supt. Esch, and seventeen residents.

 

APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE     260 Barton Shore Drive

Public Hearing  The public hearing on this application was convened at 6:01 PM.

There being no comments from the public, the hearing was closed at 6:02 PM.

 

BZA Discussion

The applicants seek to construct a free standing garage in a style that matches the architecture and materials of the existing house.  This project does not include a driveway extension to Whitmore Lake Road.

Motion  Variance was granted from Section 5.01(b)(1) of the Barton Hills Village Zoning Ordinance to allow construction of garage space for more than three vehicles at 260 Barton Shore Drive.  (Butterwick/Al-Awar/P)

Motion  Variance was granted from Section 5.03(d) of the Barton Hills Village Zoning Ordinance to allow construction of an accessory building taller than fifteen feet at 260 Barton Shore Drive.  (Butterwick/Al-Awar/P)

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES     Minutes of the July 9, 2012 Board of Zoning Appeals meeting were approved as printed.  (Butterwick/MacKrell/P)
