BARTON HILLS VILLAGE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
May 20, 2010
The meeting of the BHV Planning Commission was called to order by Chair Laura Weingartner at 7:33 PM at the Village Hall.
ROLL CALL Present: Commissioners Boddie, Wallace, Weingartner and Zoldan. Absent: Commissioners J. MacKrell, McCabe and Richards. Others present: ZPA Perry, BHV Long Range Planning Committee Chair C. MacKrell and BHMC President Bultman.
PUBLIC COMMENT None.
MINUTES The minutes of the January 21, 2010 meeting were amended (Boddie/Zoldan/P unanimously) and approved as amended. (Boddie/Zoldan/P unanimously)
COMMUNICATIONS/ANNOUNCEMENTS
Finances Carlisle/Wortman invoices #210165, 2102-105, 2102-106, 210324, 210347 and 210366 in the total amount of $3,315.00 for work on the Master Plan and Zoning Ordinance were paid on March 21, 2010 and April 16, 2010. This brings the total amount paid to date to $7,592.50. The invoices are attached to these minutes.
REPORTS None. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Master Plan The public hearing for the Master Plan was set for Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 7:00 PM (Boddie/Wallace/P unanimously) The 63-day comment period required by the Michigan Planning Enabling Act expired on April 12, 2010. Comments received were discussed: 1) Barton Hills Village Board of Trustees. Request that the areas currently labeled “Agricultural” on the current and future land use maps be labeled “Agricultural Preservation.” This change will be made. 2) Sprint. a) Section 5.8.2. Are wireless plans allowed in all non-residential zoning areas? This section will be revised to state that wireless communications will be limited to the water tower. b) Section 5.8.7. Clarify “obsolete, inoperable, or unused.” This will be defined in the zoning ordinance. 3) City of Ann Arbor. Requests to indicate land uses of abutting municipalities and name parks and features on the current and future land use maps will be fulfilled. The other requests will either be covered by the BHV Stormwater Management Plan or are not within the scope of the Master Plan.

Zoning Ordinance Several chapters of draft material have been received from Carlisle/Wortman. The subcommittee (Weingartner, Zoldan, Perry, J. Esch) will schedule working sessions and make a report to the Planning Commission. Residents will be informed of these sessions via the Barton Bulletin and BHV website and invited to attend/offer input.
