MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING
TRUSTEES OF BARTON HILLS VILLAGE
May 3, 2018
The special meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by President Boddie at 6:00 PM at Walter Esch Hall.
ROLL CALL Present: Trustees Benson, Boddie, Butterwick, Langford, MacKrell, Popp, Smith and Torres. Absent: Trustee Al-Awar.
Others attending: Atty. Maynes, BHMC President Curtner and three residents.
The purpose of the Special Meeting was to consider proposed charter amendments and other items related to road maintenance.
At their February 20, 2018 Special Meeting the Board of Trustees adopted a resolution proposing to amend the Barton Hills Village Charter Sections 2.2 and 9.1 relative to special assessment districts and private road maintenance. In following the legal process of charter amendment which includes review by the State of Michigan Governor and Attorney General, the Attorney General’s office directed that provision be included in the amendment ballot language specifying that both sections must be passed by the voters or neither will pass.
MOTION The Resolution Proposing Amendments to Village Charter and Ballot Questions was adopted. (MacKrell/Butterwick/P with Benson, Boddie, Butterwick, Langford, MacKrell, Popp, Smith and Torres voting yes)
The Special Election for voting on the proposed Charter amendments was set for August 7, 2018 by resolution.
MOTION The Resolution Authorizing August Election was adopted. (Torres/Butterwick/P with Benson, Boddie, Butterwick, Langford, MacKrell, Popp, Smith and Torres voting yes)
The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 PM. (MacKrell/Benson/P)
