MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING
TRUSTEES OF BARTON HILLS VILLAGE
November 11, 2019
The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by President Torres at 6:05 PM at Walter Esch Hall.
ROLL CALL Present: Trustees Benson, Butterwick, Hensinger, Saldana, Torres and Turner. Absent: Trustees Al-Awar, Popp and Smith.
Others attending: ZA Perry and one guest
ORGANIZATION
Alicia Torres was nominated for the office of President. There being no further nominations, the nominations were closed and Ms. Torres was elected. (Butterwick/Turner/P)
Robert Hensinger was nominated to the office of President Pro Tem. There being no further nominations, the nominations were closed and Mr. Hensinger was elected. (Torres/Turner/P)
Forrest Butterwick was nominated to the office of Clerk. There being no further nominations, the nominations were closed, Mr. Butterwick was elected and took the oath of office. (Turner/Torres/P)
The following appointments were made by the President: Treasurer Matt Turner, Assistant Treasurer Desiree Kirkland, Assessor Randy Perry, and Deputy Clerk Jan Esch. President Torres will look for a new municipal attorney.

PUBLIC COMMENT One resident commented on Long Term Planning; one resident inquired about the Border to Border Trail status.
MINUTES Minutes of the October 14, 2019 Trustees meeting were approved as printed. (Butterwick/Hensinger/P)
FINANCE/FINANCE COMMITTEE The Cash Disbursements for October 2019 were approved as printed (Aux. Book XII F(6)). (Butterwick/Benson/P) The Cash Balances and Budget to Actual reports were noted.
STANDING REPORTS
Zoning Administrator (Perry) No report.
Planning Commission (Hensinger) No report.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Recreation (Benson) The Halloween event was enjoyed by 41 kids and 15 adults despite a number of challenges (late pizza, bad weather, trolley/tow truck getting stuck). The committee is working on plans for a movie night to be held later this winter.
Security (Butterwick) The Security Committee is working on updated road signs, security cameras and identification patches. Mr. Saldana arrived
Human Resources (Torres) The Assistant Treasurer transition arrangements were noted.
Environmental (Saldana) The committee presented a written report on the Deer Management Proposal. A harvesting proposal has been obtained from White Buffalo. Aaron Blackford, owner of Aaron’s Nuisance Animal Control, presented his harvesting proposal, and will submit a proposal for doing a deer count. The Environmental Committee was authorized to submit an application to the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources for an Urban Wildlife Management permit. (Benson/Hensinger/P)
