The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by President Boddie at 6:00 PM at the Village Hall.

ROLL CALL Present: Trustees Al-Awar, Benson, Boddie, Butterwick, Langford, MacKrell and van der Velde. Absent: Trustees Borel and Izenberg. Others attending: Supt. Esch, Asst. Supt. Hnatow, Asst. Treas. King, BHMC President Legacki, BHMC Director Curtner and three residents.

PUBLIC COMMENT One speaker commended the Trustees for their work.

FINANCE/FINANCE COMMITTEE The Cash Balances report was distributed. The Cash Disbursements for August 2016 were approved as printed (Aux. Book XXIV E). (Butterwick/Al-Awar/P) Mrs. King was commended for her excellent work on the 2015-16 audit which was completed with no items of concern. Mrs. King also noted that 71% of the 2016 property taxes have been received to date (due without penalty by 9/14/16)

Recreation (Benson) A written report on the successful September 11, 2016 Village Picnic was distributed. A questionnaire will be sent with the next Barton Bulletin asking for resident input on future social events.

NEW BUSINESS
–Juniper Lane. Following extensive discussion on the proposals submitted by Robert Cell, owner of 304 Juniper Lane, the Trustees voted to enter into agreement to sell the parcel at 302 Juniper Lane to Robert Cell for $220,000 with no restrictions. (Motion to sell for $200,000/no restrictions Benson/Al-Awar/F with Al-Awar, Benson and van der Velde voting yes; Boddie, Butterwick, Langford and MacKrell voting no. Motion to sell for $220,000/no restrictions Boddie/Al-Awar/P)

–Public/Private Roads. There was extensive discussion regarding Michigan law stating that after roads have been public for ten years they may not become private. Mr. Boddie will draft a letter to be sent to the residents explaining this situation and why the Trustees favor preserving the right to regulate road use in BHV by returning the roads to private status. (Motion to give ownership of Barton Hills Village roads back to Barton Hills Maintenance Corporation Boddie/Langford; motion to table to next meeting to allow for communication of this issue to all residents MacKrell/Langford/P)

–Title VI Plan. The proposed Barton Hills Village Title VI Non-Discrimination Plan was approved. (MacKrell/Butterwick/P)
