PROPOSED BHV ZONING and ESCROW FEE STRUCTURE

At its September 8, 2025 meeting, the Trustees reviewed a proposed refresh of the Village’s Zoning and Escrow Fee Structure. At the same meeting, the Trustees passed a motion directing the Deputy Clerk to publish it in the next edition of the Barton Bulletin, so that all residents could have an opportunity to be informed of Trustee deliberations on zoning fees and share their input. At the October 13, 2025 meeting, the Zoning Task Force* will seek Trustee approval, subject to resident feedback. If you have questions or input, please contact Deputy Clerk Theresa McDevitt no later than Wednesday, October 8. BHV PROPERTY TAX BILLS

Village property taxes were due on September 15, 2025. On September 16, 2025, any unpaid taxes will incur a one-time 4% penalty and begin accruing a .5% monthly interest rate. Thank you to residents that have already paid their property taxes! If you have any questions, please call or email our Assistant Treasurer 734-222-5209 or assistanttreasurer@bartonhillsvillage.org.

BHMC ASSESSMENTS BHMC shareholder assessments were due by September 15, 2025. After September 15, 2025, a 4% penalty plus 1% per month will be added to the balance due. If you have not yet paid, please mail or deliver your check to Village Hall as soon as possible.
FALL CLEAN UP

It’s that time of year! Those beautiful leaves are starting to fall.

The BHV staff will pick up leaves for homeowners who rake their own leaves. Services and individuals who are hired to rake leaves are expected to haul away whatever debris they gather.

  • Please do not bag leaves for pick up. Put them in piles along the driveway or roadway.
  • Separate out sticks/branches from the leaf pile. These will clog up the leaf vacuum.
  • The staff will pick up leaves/sticks/brush as time permits. Pick up will not occur on trash and recycle collection days.
  • Remove leaves from catch basins and roadside drains to keep water off the roadways.
  • Drive cautiously with an eye out for lawn service vehicles and workers on the side of the road.
FALL PICNIC

The 2025 BHV Fall Picnic was another successful showing! It was a beautiful day, and fun was had by all! The Village was lucky to have both Foodies Catering provide the food for the picnic and Marsha Mumm performing retro music for our event.

Foodies have brought the food truck for the past 3 years, and this is Marsha’s 2nd year performing at the picnic. If interested, are available for private event bookings.
