The Board will receive comments on an application to install rooftop solar equipment, and a retaining wall, submitted by the owners of 465 Hillspur Road. HOLIDAY TRASH SCHEDULE Trash will be picked up on Monday December 27, 2021 as well as on regular trash days January 3, 17 and 31, 2022. Please note that cardboard boxes put out with the trash for pick up, or brought to the recycling area, must be empty!

FROM THE BHV PRESIDENT The Board of Trustees committee chairs and members are firmly in place. I am pleased that we have such a nice mix of residents who have offered to participate in the business of the Village. Some are newer to the Village with young active families; others are familiar faces who are part of the Village’s history.
This balance will enable us to explore improvements for our future while maintaining the uniqueness and serenity that makes the Village a special place to live.

BHV BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING DATES 2022 The Board of Trustees has set their 2022 regular meeting dates (second Monday of each month): January 10, February 14, March 14 (Annual Meeting), April 11, May 19, June 13, July 11, August 8, September 12, October 10, November 14 (Election November 8) and December 12.
ZONING ADMINISTRATOR OPEN POSITION Applications are still being accepted for the Zoning Administrator position. Residents who are interested should contact President Benson (lindabenson22@gmail.com; 734-761-5006) by January 4, 2022.
PROPOSED ORDINANCE AMENDMENT At the December 13, 2021 Board of Trustees meeting, discussion of proposed Ordinance No. 59 (to amend BHV Code Chapter 22 to include other animals besides dogs, particularly addressing chickens, ducks and honeybees) was tabled to the January 10, 2022 Board meeting. Resident comments on the proposed ordinance are still being accepted.
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE BHV does not collect Household Hazardous Waste from November 1 to April 1. Residents may take hazardous items to the Washtenaw County Home Toxins Center, 705 N. Zeeb Road, Ann Arbor MI 48105 during the following hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:30 AM – 4:15 PM; Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 AM to noon. The center will close for the holidays on December 24, and reopen on January 3. ANOTHER INVASIVE SPECIES The Michigan Invasive Species Program is on the lookout for Hemlock Woolly Adelgids, a tiny insect that can kill untreated hemlock trees in 4-10 years.
