The meeting of the Board of Zoning Appeals was called to order by President Boddie at 6:30 PM at the Village Hall.
ROLL CALL Present: Trustees Al-Awar, Benson, Boddie, Borel, Butterwick, Langford, MacKrell and van der Velde. Absent: Trustee Izenberg.
Others attending: ZPA Perry, Asst. Treasurer King and Supt. Esch.
APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE 855 Oakdale Road
Public Hearing The public hearing on this application was convened at 6:31 PM.
There being no comments from the public, the hearing was closed at 6:32 PM.
BZA Discussion
The applicant seeks to construct a free standing garage in a style that matches the architecture and materials of the existing house. There is potential living space in the attic level. Comments from neighbors (written–805 Oakdale Road and verbal–859 Oakdale Road) were in support of the project.
Motion The project should be tabled to the next BZA meeting due to lack of representatives present to provide more information about the potential living space. Motion failed. (Benson/MacKrell/F with Benson, Butterwick, MacKrell, van der Velde voting yes;
Al-Awar, Boddie, Borel, Langford voting no)
Motion Variance was granted from Section 5.01(b)(1) of the Barton Hills Village Zoning Ordinance to allow construction of garage space for more than three vehicles at 855 Oakdale Road with the condition that there be no kitchen facilities in the living space above the garage space. (Borel/Al-Awar/P with MacKrell voting no)
Motion Variance was granted from Section 5.03(d) of the Barton Hills Village Zoning Ordinance to allow construction of an accessory building taller than fifteen feet at 855 Oakdale Road with the condition that there be no kitchen facilities in the living space above the garage space. (Borel/Al-Awar/P with MacKrell voting no)
