CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) CRISIS

Barton Hills Village is joining with other state and federal agencies to address the COVID-19 health crisis.  Worldwide experience to date has shown that careful attention to safety precautions is essential in slowing the spread of this dangerous virus.

WHAT WE ARE DOING AND HOW YOU CAN HELP

–The Maintenance crew will continue the regular trash collection schedule.  Our vehicles and facilities are being thoroughly cleaned, and crew members will be wearing protective gloves.

Please disinfect door knobs and alarm pads that are used by the crew to access your trash.

–We anticipate there may be more trash than usual with families at home, so please be patient and we will get to everyone.

Please do not bring trash down to the maintenance area, as there is no safe place to contain it until it can be taken to the landfill.

–Recycling will continue as usual.

Thank you for sorting your recyclables into the appropriate bins (corrugated cardboard in the salt shed) and for making sure your materials are free of food/debris.

–The Village Hall staff will be working normal hours, but the building will be closed to the public.  We will be checking phone and email often, so those are the best ways to connect with staff.  There are no meetings or activities scheduled for the rest of March.

For return of the BHMC budget ballots, please use email or fax, or call Jan for more options.

–We will be vigilant in following recommended health and safety measures.
Watch for the signs/symptoms of COVID-19, including fever, cough and difficulty breathing.
Stay home when you are sick, and practice social distancing if you must go out.
Regularly clean and disinfect frequently-touched surfaces, such as doorknobs, keyboards, cell phones and light switches.
Communicate and reinforce best practices for washing hands and covering coughs and sneezes.
