BARTON HILLS VILLAGE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
October 10, 2012
The regular meeting of the BHV Planning Commission was called to order by Chair Laura Weingartner at 6:24 PM at the Village Hall.
ROLL CALL Present: Commissioners CMacKrell, JMacKrell, Richards, Wallace and Weingartner. Absent: Commissioners Curtner and Zoldan. Others present: ZPA Perry and a college student observer.
PUBLIC COMMENT None.
MINUTES The minutes of the July 19, 2012 meeting were approved as printed. (Richards/Wallace/P unanimously)
COMMUNICATIONS/ANNOUNCEMENTS None.
REPORTS None.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS Zoning Ordinance (draft dated 1/16/12)
–Trash (Section 8.02). Modify B(3) to apply to single family residential.
–Equipment Screening (Section 8.03). B(2)(b) Change “evergreen” to species that will provide year-round screening.
–Lighting (Section 8.04). Modify to prohibit uplighting and pole mounted lights for single family residential if possible. It was noted that it is difficult to regulate lighting without requiring costly photometric standards.
–Parking (Section 8.05). Correct table 13.06; restrict permanent parking areas by roadways for houses larger than 10,000 square feet.
–Articles 9, 10 and 11 OK.
–Randy will investigate fire safety review.
A revised draft will be circulated to the Commissioners as soon as it is ready.
