FOSTER BRIDGE CLOSURE

Monday October 10, 2022   On Monday, October 10, 2022, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will close the Maple Road (Foster) Bridge over the Huron River for bridge rehabilitation. This is the second phase of the bridge rehabilitation project that began earlier this summer. WCRC will complete improvements on the bridge approaches and install a dry hydrant for emergency responders. The bridge will be closed to ALL traffic during rehabilitation – including river traffic and non-motorized users. ALL traffic will be required to follow the posted detour or seek an alternate route.

The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to receive comment on the proposed amendments to the Barton Hills Village Master Plan.  The Master Plan was adopted in 2010, and is now being updated.  The 2010 and 2022 Master Plan documents are posted on the BHV website, and are available for inspection at the Clerk’s office.

 

WATER METER READING     BHV staff will be coming to your house (when you’re home) during the month of October to read your water meter for the annual billing.  If you prefer, you can take a photo of the dial numbers on your meter and email it by October 21 to the office at bhvclerk@bartonhillsvillage.org.  Be sure to put your name/address in the email.

The meeting will include public hearings for a solar permit (320 Juniper Lane) and a wall permit (490 Barton Shore Drive).  Public comment on the projects may be submitted in writing to Barton Hills Village prior to the meeting, or in person during the meeting.

RECYCLING SURVEY     The Recycling Survey was distributed by email and paper on Monday October 4.  Thank you for your feedback that will be very helpful to the Environment Committee as they seek to improve the BHV Recycling program.  Contact the Clerk’s Office if you have questions about the survey.
